Primary Research (Exhibitons)
- M&S Archives - Leeds Uni /
Also Kirkgate Market to show how it started(whilst there look into their ethics) - My own in-person research of various supermarket gluten-free aisles / markets
- Protest - A Display About The Evolution of Protest in Leeds from 1643. - Why? Because I want to explore the evolution of people 'following' a cause and how it takes just one to make a difference and transcend society
The Veg Out Cafe - Why? Because it shows how much society has changed that these are now on offer and how vegetarian/vegan lifestyles are becoming more welcomed.. how long will it take for a gluten free cafe?- The Junk Food Project - Why? How people are using food in a different way to ever before and changing perspectives
- Go to a restaurant with a lot of gluten-free options / Wetherspoons has it's own menu - speak to work (Issho) how gluten intolerance is a prevalent part of their service, also created their own menu.
- While in Spain this summer, I will look at how their diets are different/advertisements differ whilst still being in a 'Western society.'
- What festivals offer gluten-free food? Is it targeted at a certain group of people? For example, gluten free is at Boomtown but not at Creamfields as much.
- I will also speak to people with coeliac disease to investigate the implications of gluten free food becoming a fad for the many when in fact the few need it to survive.
Other
- Lucky Peach - Food Journal (Vernon Street)
- Publications - changes in food production
